Willie E. Jackson of 216 Worden Ave, formerly of Buffalo, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016 in the Olean General Hospital of complications from an apparent heart attack.
Willie was born July 31, 1958 in Buffalo and was the son of Jonnie and Roslyn Harp Jackson. He was formerly married to Linda Rauls, who predeceased him. On July 31, 2014, he married Nancy R. Wright Herbert, who survives.
Willie started playing music at the age of 4 and as an adult he played in a number of bands in Buffalo, including Magnum Force, Phase One, Skin Tight, and Stone Funk. He was not only a musician but he also taught music to a number of people, who went on to become professional musicians.
Along with his loving wife, Nancy, Willie is survived by his parents, Jonnie and Roslyn Jackson of Buffalo; five children, Chantel Whittaker, Ikea Jackson, Tristen Jackson, Fountain Jackson, and Jay Jackson; four stepchildren; and six siblings, Crystal Jackson, Tarra Jackson, Vanessa Solomon, JoAnn Jackson, Darnell Jackson and Johnnie Jackson all of Buffalo.
Along with his first Wife, Willie was predeceased by two children, Nina & Tryshon Jackson.
Friends will be received in the Trinity United Methodist Church on 9th St. in Olean on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. LaMont A. Higginbottom, Pastor, will officiate.
