Sherry L. Mitchem

Sherry L. Mitchem, 61 of 645 E. State Street, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in the Olean General Hospital. Sherry was born July 15, 1951 in Cuba and was a daughter of Robert LeRoy and Ruth Mildred Thompson Giles. She loved her pets. Sherry is survived by four children, Buddy, Claudia, Scooby, and Jimmy; three brothers, Bill F. Giles of Athens, Alabama, Elmer "Butch" Giles of Friendship, and Rick (June) Giles of Allegany; one sister, Dawn Hanson; one sister-in-law, Mary Giles of Bolivar; and several nieces and nephews. Sherry was predeceased by one brother, Robert Lee Giles in 2008 in Denton, Texas. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Warming House, 164 North Union Street, Olean, New York 14760.
