Linda L. Farr of 816 South Union Street Branch passed away Tuesday Jan. 17, 2012 at the home of her son Larry Commons in Portville after a lengthy illness. Linda was born June 29, 1944 in Owensville, Indiana, a daughter of her father Jess L. Deal and her mother and step father Ada L. (Charlie) Mason Moody. On June 25, 1976, in St. Petersburg Fla., she married her husband of 30 years, Arnold D. "Buzz" Farr, who predeceased her on August 23, 2006. Linda enjoyed reading, and arts and crafts, being on her computer with her friends and her loving companion BB "Buzz's Baby". But above all she truly loved and enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren. Surviving Linda are a daughter, Adana M. (Edgar Sorensen) Commons of Allegany; two sons, Larry L. (Nancy) Commons, Jr. of Portville, and Jeromy T. (Tina) Farr of Allegany; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two brothers, Jess L. (Bernie) Deal of Aurora, CO, and Ralph W. "Cotton" (Juliette) Deal of St. Petersburg, FL; and four sisters, Norma L. Altmeyer of Indiana, Joyce M. (Roy) Holden of Crystal River, FL, Sue Chambers of Denver, CO, and Sandra K. Deal of Olean. Linda was predeceased by her parents; two infant brothers; and a brother, James R. Deal. There will no public visitation. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held in Mt. View Cemetery at a date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Association, 315 Alberta Dr Ste 102, Amherst, NY 14226.
