Robert L. VanSchaick of 5340 Miller Hill Road passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 at home following an apparent heart attack. Mr. VanSchaick was born on Feb. 11, 1939 in Nelson, Pa. and was a son of Leon and Gretchen Bennett VanSchaick. On Sept. 25, 1965 in Buffalo he married Kathryn A. Hamilton who survives. Following his military service he began working at Pennsylvania Rail Road (now Contrail) and retired 25 years latter in 1988. He and his wife bought the Royal-Ed-Nor Restaurant and Camp Grounds on Union Valley Road in Hinsdale in 1988 and ran it for a couple of years. Mr. VanSchaick was pre-deceased by a grandson Adam R. O'Neill on Jan. 13, 2009. Friends may attend a Remembrance Gathering on Saturday, May 15, 2010 starting at noon at the family's home at 5354 Miller Hill Road, Cuba.
