Norma L. Parker

September 25, 1925 — September 12, 2010

Norma L. Parker of 1180 Underwood Road passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Norma was born on Sept. 25, 1925 in Swain, New York and was a daughter of Leon and Nellie Swain Parker. She worked for Motorola of Arcade from 1972 until ownership was transferred to Prestolite Corp. and then retiring in 1990. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, traveling & sightseeing and most of all she was a NASCAR fan. Norma loved her pets Andy and Graby. Surviving Ms. Parker are two sons, Neil T. (Eleanor) Rees of Olean, and Paul A. (Sheila) Rees of Hastings, NY; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Brahaney of Ferndale, Washington, and Patricia Hendryx of Olean; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews including a niece and best friend Holly and Robert Fisher of Portville. Ms. Parker was predeceased by a brother, Malcolm Parker in 1998, two sisters, Melva Childs in 1996 and Velma Norton in 1993. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Gerald N. Piper will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Dalton, New York. Memorials may be made to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo NY 14263.
