Geraldine I. Lorshbaugh, of 36107 Aster Ave., Zephyrhills, Fla., formerly of Wellsville, passed away Monday, January 5, 2010 at Absolut of Allegany, following a short illness. Mrs. Lorshbaugh was born on May 12, 1922 in Limestone and was a daughter of William L. and Alberta Rice Oakes. She married her husband Earl A. Lorshbaugh in 1948 in Bradford. He pre-deceased her in 2001. Mrs. Lorshbaugh was truly a remarkable and independent lady who literally could do anything she put her mind too. She was an avid hunter of both big and small game and she traveled in her motor home thought the country many times with just her dog right up to last year. She truly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Surviving Mrs. Lorshbaugh are two sons, Earl A. (Martha) Lorshbaugh III of Pavilion, and David L. (Rhonda) Lorshbaugh of Island of St. Croix; two daughters, Sandra L. (David Richmond) Hallock of Cuba, and Suzanne Crawford of Rochester; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence (Janette) Oaks of Sugar Grover, Pa., and Richard (Judith) Oaks of Bandera, Texas; a sister, Peggy (James) VanGiesen of Lake Okeechobee, Fl.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lorshbaugh was pre-deceased by a sister, Kathryn Chamberlin and a brother Marvin Oaks. At this time there will be no public visitation or funeral. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy Cuba. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Absolut at Allegany Nursing Home. 7th & Maple St, Allegany, NY 14706.
