James T. Killock

James T. Killock, Jr., of South Dayton, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010, with his daughter Jaime at his side in her home, in Wellsville, N.Y. Mr. Killock was born June 8, 1949, in Buffalo, N.Y., and was the son of James Killock Sr. and Thelma Knickerbockers Zentecki. He was predeceased by both parents and a step father "Whitey" Zentecki. James was employed as a welder, for Signore Industries, of Ellicottville, N.Y. many years, and was also employed by Bush Industries, of Jamestown, N.Y., and Muench tanning, of Gowanda, N.Y. before becoming retiring do to his illness. Mr. Killock was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and was also a past member of Kill Buck, N.Y. and Little Valley, N.Y. Fire Departments. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, bowling and electrical repair on the side, but his greatest love was spending time with his daughters, and grandchildren. He also had a special friend, his dog "Spud" who he adored and took everywhere he went. Surviving are three daughters, Ronna (Dale Needham) Landphair of Arcade, N.Y., Jaime (Jeffery) Taylor of Wellsville, N.Y., and Sharyn (David) Olschewske of Ashburn, Va.; seven grandchildren, Matthew & Morgan Landphair, and Isaiah, Alex, & Sydney Olschewske, and Ashley Taylor & Tim Smith; two brothers, Ronald (Bobbie) Killock of South Dayton, and David Killock of Jamestown; one sister, Linda Killock of Bath; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of life at the South Dayton American Legion on July 31, 2010 from 1:00 pm-5pm, at which time a brief memorial service will be held. The Rev. Michael Trenchard will officiate. A private burial will be held in the Villanova Cemetery in South Dayton. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be sent to his daughter, Jaime S. Taylor; to help to defray funeral expenses. P.O. Box 1106, Wellsville, NY 14895.
