Geneva H. Cayea

Geneva H. Cayea formerly of 160 Brooklyn St. Portville passed away Tuesday July 12, 2010 at the Wellsville Manor. Mrs. Cayea was born in Olean on July 30, 1915, the daughter of George and Christina Delfs Miller. On April 3, 1937 in Gloversville N.Y., she married her husband of almost 62 years, James E. Cayea Sr. who predeceased her on March 11, 1999. Mrs. Cayea attended Olean High School and was a life long member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Ruth Guild along with many other societies in her life time. Surviving Mrs. Cayea are three grandchildren, Stephen (Trish) Cayea of Charlotte, NC, Jeanne Cayea of Whitehall, PA, and Benjamin Cayea of Ithaca, NY; two great-granddaughters, Morgan and Peyton Cayea; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband Mrs. Cayea was predeceased by one son, James E. Cayea Jr. in 1995; three brothers, Walter Miller, Edwin Miller and William Miller; and one sister, Helen Mogle. Friends and family will be received at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, North 4th & Laurens, on Thursday July 15, 2009 from 11:00AM till 1:00PM. At which time funeral services will be held. The Rev., Dr. Derek J. Cheek, pastor will officiate. Burial will be at The Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville, NY. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Interfaith Care Givers, 34 N 4th St Allegany, NY 14706.
