Norene L. Kane

September 2, 1919 — May 21, 2008

Norene L. Kane formerly of Allegany, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in the Pines Health & Rehab. Center in Machias. Mrs. Kane was born Sept. 2, 1919 in Johnstown, Pa. and was a daughter of Howard and Louise Eppley. She worked at Clark Brother in the Tool Crib for many years then she worked at the Castle Restaurant in both the office and as a waitress. Mrs. Kane enjoyed sowing, knitting and gardening. Surviving Mrs. Kane are a son, Philip G. (Nancy) Garretson of Plantation, Fl.; a daughter, Carole A. Sandburg of Allegany; 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Kane was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Laura Maness in 2003, and a twin sister, Irene Reed. At Mrs. Kane request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorials may be made to the Friends of the Pines 9822 Rt. 16 Machias, N.Y. 14101 or the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean.
