Raymond J. Greene

Raymond J (Peckham) Greene of 4312 Rt. 417 Allegany passed away at home Thursday July 25, 2013. He was buried with a full Military Funeral on July 29, 2013 in the Olean Mount View Cemetery. Raymond Peckham was born March 20, 1931 in New York around this area. His birth parents for five years were Arthur B. Peckham and Nona M. Drake Peckham. He was later adopted by John W. Greene and Lucy Grodevant Greene Frank. Ray graduated from Bolivar High School and won first place in State in the hurdles. He always loved working on machines and roller skating. He served in the Navy for 4 years and then served in the US Air Force as a teletype mechanic until he retired back to Allegany. He loved growing his Rhubarbs in his backyard. He took pride in a beautiful yard. In 1957 he was married to Carolyn Christian of Forth Worth, Texas. They had one daughter named Kimberly. In 1960 he was married to Velma Campbell of Waco, Texas for eleven years. They had two children, named Stephen and Sheryl. Later he married Thelma Rocero and they adopted one son, named Thomas Rocero. Ray is survived by his wife Thelma, two daughters, Kim O�Berg of Oregon, Sherry Carroll of Texas and one adopted son Thomas Greene of Massachusetts. Also he survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grand children. Along with his birth parents and adopted parents and step-father William Frank. Ray was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Greene of Texas. Brothers: George Peckham and Samuel Peckham, and Sisters: Frances Williams and Helen Graves. We will miss him greatly.
