Jim C. Conner of 356 Queen passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 in the Cuba Memorial Hospital Palliative Care United follow a short illness.
Jim was born Aug. 11, 1938 in Salamanca and was a son of Merle and Helen Medland Conner. On Sep. 15, 1977, in Portville he married his wife of 34 years, Sandra Kay Amore, who predeceased him on Oct. 28, 2011.
Jim worked for Stroehmann Bakery for many years before working at the Reid's Food Barn Bakery in Olean. He worked there for more than 22 years when he retired in Dec. 2012. James was a member of the BPOE of Olean. He was a Buffalo Bills and a New York Yankees fan. Jim enjoyed tinkering around the house and garage and he enjoyed refinishing furniture. But his true enjoyment came from his family especially his grandsons.
Jim is survived by two daughters, Amanda L. (Adam) Bleech, and Linda S. (Wayne) Nottingham both of Olean; three sons, Jeffery P. Conner of Olean, David J. (Christine) Conner of Allegany, and Jamie D. (Kimberly) Conner of Olean; six grandchildren, Brandon Conner, Aaron Conner, Eric Nottingham, Noah Bleech, Isaac Bleech, & Derek Conner; two brothers, John (Kathy) Conner of Chelmsford, MA, and Joseph Conner of Texas; and several nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Friends will be received on Friday. Dec. 27, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Letro-McIntosh- Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street Olean. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home. The Rev. Millard C. Cook, Associate Pastor of the Olean First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
