Anthony A. "Tony" Bunk Sr., 81, of Route 305, Belfast died Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Olean General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born November 3, 1932 in Humphrey, he was the youngest son of Francis and Katherine (Kosinski) Bunk. On February 19, 1955, he married Frances E. Hitchcock, who predeceased him on April 9, 2012. Tony served with the United States Army in Panama from 1953 to 1955. He worked for 27 years at Dresser-Rand, where he retired from his inspector position in April 1995. A 1951 graduate of Cuba High School, Tony enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, tinkering and working in his garage. He enjoyed attending St. Bonaventure men's basketball games, spending summers at the family cabin at Lamoka Lake and relaxing in the company of his beloved dogs, Gecko and Jack. He is survived by three children, Anthony (Linda) Bunk Jr., of Cuba; and Douglas (Kimberly) Bunk and Valerie (Eric) Goldthwait, both of Belfast; grandchildren, Phillip (Brandy) Bunk of Franklinville; Denise (Mike) Bunk-Hatch of Portville; Christopher "Cricket" Goldthwait of Belfast; Keith (Heather) Borden of Franklinville; Jesse Borden of Maryland; Anthony Borden of Olean; and Michelle(Fred) Childs of Belmont; as well as several great-grandchildren; and a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. In addition to his wife of 57 years, he was predeceased by his parents; an infant daughter, Susan; six brothers, William, Frank, Johnny, Joseph, Edward and Stanley; and three sisters, Genevieve, Anna, and Pauline. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at which time Funeral Services will be held. The Rev. Carol W. Stewart, Associate Priest, Allegany County Episcopal Ministry, will officiate. Burial will be in the Veteran's Field of Honor in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean.
