Mark A. Bidwell

Mark A. Bidwell, of 9646 North Shore Road died on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at his home. Mark was born Dec. 9, 1937 in Cuba and was a son of Mark A. and Lorena Niles Bidwell. He was married to Priscilla L. Jones in 1963. Mark was a lifelong resident of Cuba. He served in the Army from Dec. 14, 1955 to Nov. 21, 1957 and again from Aug. 12, 1959 to July 20, 1962. Mark worked as a local contractor in the area for many years and was part owner of D & M Contracting. He was very handy with his hands and could do anything with construction such as electrical, plumbing and carpentry but he especially enjoyed working with masonry and stone. He loved animals and hunting and enjoyed hunting with his coon dogs. Mark just enjoyed the freedom of being out doors where he would enjoy gardening, planting flowers and his blueberry patch and outdoor photography. Mark is survived by one daughter, Dawn M. Bidwell of Olean; two grandchildren, Brian and Dana Stevens; several nieces & nephews; a loving companion, Kathy Hutchinson of Olean; and one sister, Lorena "Sally" Fritts of Shelby, NC. Mark was predeceased by one son, Brian Mark Bidwell in 1974; four siblings, Hila Bunk, Charles "Perk" Bidwell, Jerald "Jo" Bidwell, & Dorothy Karst. There will be no public visitation. A gathering will be held at a future date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba.
