Michael S. Struble of 1240 Seneca Ave., formerly of Cuba, passed away Monday, April 20, 2009 at home following an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Struble was born on October 30, 1967 in Olean and was the son of Charles E. and Jane B. Streight Struble. He was formerly married to Anne M. Elderkin.
Mr. Struble was a 1986 graduate of Hinsdale High School and received an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for IBM as an electrical trouble shooter for several counties in the local area for about two years. Mr. Struble then worked as an electrician for a number of local electrical companies before being employed for the last 10 years as a skilled maintenance worker by Dean Foods (Friendship Dairies).
Mr. Struble was a member of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church. He enjoyed working on cars and dirt bikes as well as music. Mr. Struble was an easy going man who was always playful, had a great sense of humor, and will be remembered as a person who was always looking out for someone else. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Mr. Struble is survived by four sons, Aaron M. Struble of Olean, Jacob A. Struble of Portville, Joshua A. Struble of Portville, and Harley J. Diehl of Olean; two daughters, Samantha J. (Zachary Kamats) Struble of Olean, and Melissa A. Struble of Portville; three stepsons, Thomas M. Orozco of Minneapolis, Alexander R. Orozco of Bemidji, MN., and Tyler P. Orozco of Olean; a granddaughter, Brianna Nicole Kamats; a brother, Charles F. (Ruthann) Struble of Hinsdale; two sisters, April J. Aldrich of Hinsdale, and Jacqueline L. Struble of Jacksonville, FL; a life partner, Kristi L. Mercer of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 7-9 P.M. and Friday, April 24, 2009 from 1-3 P.M. at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. with the Rev. Dr. Carl Schultz, Pastor of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Hinsdale Cemetery.
