Doris F. Mondry

Doris F. Mondry of 1978 Kansas Ave. passed away on August 25, 2009 at Jones Memorial Hospital following an illness. Mrs. Mondry was born on June 13, 1921 in Wellsville N.Y. and was the daughter of Frank and Clara Rogers McCarthy. In 1936 she married her husband Merle Cowles who predeceased her. In 1963 she married John B. Mondry, who also predeceased her in 1983. Mrs. Mondry enjoyed taking care of her home and family. She also enjoyed long Sunday rides and traveling. Surviving Mrs. Mondry are a son, Ronald (Phyllis) Cowles of Little Genesee; eleven grandchildren including Rose Marie Kellner of Ischua, Ronald W. Hughes of Olean, Daniel E. Hughes of Bradford, and Jack L. Carpenter of Olean; 21 great grandchildren, and two great great granddaughters. Mrs. Mondry was predeceased by two daughters, Mary Lou Finch and Delores "Peachy" Hughes; three sisters, Marion White, Helen Cornelius, and Alberta Jones. Friends will be received at Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean on Friday, Aug. 28, 2009 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at which time a prayer will be offered by the Rev. Dr. Derek J. Cheek, Pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Olean. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
