Collins L. Merritt

Mr. Collins L. Merritt, 1208 Reed Street Apt. 4, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Olean General Hospital. Mr. Merritt was born on January 1, 1945 in Portville and was the son of Fredrick and Anna Thomas Merritt. On June 25, 2005 in Olean, he married Victoria L. Laluk, who survives. Mr. Merritt attended Olean High School and St. Mary of the Angels Church. He enjoyed going for walks with his wife, whom he loved very much. Mr. Merritt also enjoyed going to the Warming House and was an avid New York Yankees fan. In addition to his wife, Mr. Merritt is survived by a niece, Laila White of Olean; and four great nephews. He is predeceased by a sister, Mary Merritt in 2004. At Mr. Merritt request there will be on public visitation. A Memorial Service will be held in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean at a date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Warming House 110 West State Street, Olean, NY 14760.
