Gesine K. Horgen

Mrs. Gesine K. Horgen of 61 Hawthorn Lane Allegany N.Y. went to be with the Lord on Saturday June 13, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Horgen was born on Oct. 11, 1912 in Lista Norway and was the daughter of Johan and Anna-Marthine Syvertsen Jonsen. On April 24, 1945 in Brooklyn N.Y. she married her husband of 48 years, Mr. Johnny Horgen who pre-deceased her in 1993. Mrs. Horgen was a lady of great faith and had a homeward look to be with her Lord and Savior. She often stated that "One of these days I won't be here" and now she is home. Mrs. Horgen found great comfort in Psalm 23. She loved music and was part of a Norwegian string band where she played the guitar and the organ. Mrs. Horgen was a member of the Ocean County Evangelical Free Church in NJ. Surviving Mrs. Horgen are a son, Rev. Jahn M. (Diana) Horgen of Denver, PA.; two daughters, Karin J. (Arnold) Larsen of Allegany, and Evelyn J. (Carl) Amick of Grafton, Wisc.; thirteen grandchildren, Jahn David Horgen, Ruth E. Gibson, Stephen P. Horgen, Anna M. Davis, Kristine J. Horgen, Sonja J. Githmark, Erik A. Larsen, Arne K. Larsen, Tor I. Larsen, Jon A. Larsen, Annelise S. Larsen, Kari A. Amick and Jack F. Amick; and eighteen great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Mrs. Horgen was pre-deceased by a daughter, Gladys Horgen in 2002; five brothers and sisters, Jorgen Jansen, Gjertrud Skarstein, Syvert Jansen Bendikte Jansen, and Judith Sunde. Friends will be received on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Cornerstone Bible Church, 529 Lauchtown Road, Terre Hill, Pa., from 9:00am to 10:00 A.M. at which time funeral services will be held. Her Son the Rev. Jahn M. Horgen, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be held at the Whiting Memorial Park in Whiting N.J. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cornerstone Bible Church, 529 Lauchtown Rd. Terre Hill PA 17581.
