Jack Arthur Langdon

Jack Arthur "Smiling Jack" Langdon of 1962 Michigan Ave., passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at his home, following an apparent heart attack. Jack was born July 17, 1939 in Allegany and was a son of Truman and Mary Harrington Langdon. Jack enlisted in the US Navy from January 1,9, 1958 to January 23, 1962, where he served on the UDT Special Forces as a "Frogman." He worked at Harrison Radiator in Lockport before moving to Olean in the late 1960's. Jack worked as a self-employed contractor, primarily doing roofs and siding, for many years until his retirement in about 2005. He was also very musical starting when he was 8-9 years old. Jack later began playing lead guitar for the "Saddle Tramps" which became the "Tumble Weeds" where he continued to play. He is a former member of the Franklinville I.O.O. B. Jack enjoyed being outdoors, but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jack is survived by ten children, Patti of Olean, Elaine (Pete) Morello of Lockport, Daniel "Bud" Langdon, Deborah (Dennis) Drabant of Allegany, Anthony, Tracey (Bob) Eliason of Bradford, PA, Trishelle of Salamanca, Thomas M. (Colleen) Langdon of Bradford, PA, Jenniffer, and Mary A. (Jess) McFall of Olean; many grandchildren; great Grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and his life-long companion, Susanne E. Isaman of Olean. Jack was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Langdon in 1987; and eight siblings, Francis, Ronald, Colleen "Coke", Lorraine "Loop", Karon, Daniel, Eileen, and Infant Twin John. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State Street, Olean on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at which time full military honors will be accorded by the Ritual Team from the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post #892.
