Mark Asa Hardy, formerly of Olean, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 in Randleman, NC, following a brief illness.
Mark was born on July 31, 1957 in Olean and was a son of Robert A. and E. Jeanne Moyer Hardy. He was formerly married to Denise Cutler of Lockport.
Mark was a 1975 graduate of Olean High School. He started working at Tops Markets, while he was in high school, for 4 or 5 years. Mark drove taxi for a number of cab companies in Olean the 1980's and then in 1990 he worked for the Olean Times Herald. He moved to Phoenix, AZ in the 1990's he worked for Savage Universal Company making backdrops for movies from 1993 to 1995. In 1997, Mark moved to Randleman, NC where he worked for Techmark, an injection plastic mold company, until 2015 when he became ill.
Mark enjoyed muscle cars, WWE wrestling, and Olean history and will be remembered as a man who loved life.
Mark is survived by a son, Mark C. Hardy; a daughter, Kimberly Sue Hardy of Lockport; a grandson, Tyler Hardy; a brother, Robert J. Hardy of Olean; his girlfriend, Pam Hirt of Randolph, NC; two cousins; and a close friend, Audrey Lampi of Olean.
Mark was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Wendy Ellen Hardy; and an infant son, Mark A. Hardy, Jr.
Friends were received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State Street, Olean on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at which time a Memorial Service was held.
