Jean E. Case

Jean E. Case formerly of the Aspen Tower passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008 in the Absolute at Allegany. Mrs. Case was born on Sept. 27, 1921 in Olean and was a daughter of Frank & Arlie" DeGroff. On November 23, 1050 in the Olean First Baptist Church she married Clinton A. Case who pre-deceased her on Jan. 14, 1984. Mrs. Case graduated for the State University at Geneseo in 1944 with a Batchers degree in Education. She taught elementary classes in for 1 year in Cuba, 4 years in Rushford, a half a year in Niagara Falls and 14 years in Portville retiring in 1966. She was a former member of the Olean First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 20 years from the 1950's to the 1970's. Surviving Mrs. Case are two sisters, Betty L. Moffat of Silva NC. and Phyllis B. (Albert) Ibaugh-Specyal of Youngstown, N.Y.; a sisiter-in-law, Shirley A. DeGroff of Sun City Center, Fl.; 11 nieces & nephews; close & special friends, Millie (Stephen) Hussak of Akron, NY and Diane (Pete) DePalma of Olean. Mrs. Case was pre-deceased by a brother - Richard C. "Dick" DeGroff in 1994. Family and Friends may call on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from 11:00 to 12:00 noon in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Allegany Cemetery, Allegany. The Rev. David C. Outman will officiate. Memorials may be made to the charity of the Donors Choice.
