Rose M. Collins of 401 Alder Street, Apt. 31, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017, at her home, following an illness surrounded by her loving family.
Rose was born June 20, 1956 in Salamanca and was a daughter of Hobart E. and Margaret J. Gutswager Collins.
Rose graduated from Salamanca High School in 1974. She worked at Bush Brothers in Salamanca for a period of time and then in the housekeeping departments for a couple of local hotels, including the Castle Inn and the DeSoto Motel. Rose retired in 2005. She was formerly a member of the Salvation Army Church and enjoyed bingo, walking, going to yard sales, shopping, playing cards, and listening to church music.
Rose is survived by three children, Jayson E. (Jacki Crowe) Collins, Sr., Nichole L. Stanford, and Tonya M. Stanford all of Olean; eight grandchildren, Jayson, Trenten, Treven, Jaelen, Jourdan, Novah, Olivia, and Ja-Asia; six siblings, Cindy (Dave) White, Carol (Richard) Brown, Charles (Diane) Collins, Cathy Goebel, Brenda (Art) Collins, and William (Gail) Collins; and a special friend, Pat Young of Olean.
Rose was predeceased by her parents; a granddaughter, Shian R. Shaffer on July 21, 1994; and several siblings, including a special sister, Garland I. "Sissy" Stanford on April 9, 2016.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Tyrone A. Hall will officiate. Burial will be in the Wildwood Cemetery in Salamanca.
