Mathew T. Chaffee

Mathew T. Chaffee, 29, of Olean passed away on Monday June 5, 2017, another victim of addiction. His love for his family and all who knew him never waivered. Born, June 14, 1987 in Olean, he was the son of his loving mother, Karen (Chaffee) Materna and his stepfather Michael Materna. Mathew attended Hinsdale High School and was very proud to get his GED. He was bright, handsome, and magnetic. Mathew enjoyed music and was very energetic. He loved his family and friends, but most of all he loved his daughters. Along with his parents, Mathew is survived by his paternal grandparents, Walter and Joan Materna; two daughters, Amara Janden and Alayna Jolean Chaffee, the loves of his life; a sister, Meghan E. (Jarod Poulin) Materna; a brother, Michael A. (Kelly Cory) Materna of Olean; special friend, Angie Rodgers; several aunts and uncles, especially his loving Uncle, Michael Chaffee; and many family and friends. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home #646 E. State Street, on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev.
