Florence J. Bailey

Olean- Florence Jane Bailey “Loving Mother, Grandmother & Sister” Florence Jane Bailey formerly of 108 Tagerty Avenue for 64 years passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at home following a short illness. Jane was born on January 22, 1925, in Olean and was the daughter of Carl J. and Ester Pettis Carlson. On December 7, 1944, in Allegany, she married her loving husband of 75 years, William G. Bailey who predeceased her on March 22, 2020. Jane attended Olean Schools and worked for Daystrom’s during WWII. Her true love was raising her family and taking care of their home. Jane was formerly a member of the Olean First Baptist Church. She enjoyed Scrabble, sewing, and crocheting. Jane is survived by her daughter, Kathleen J. (James) Clark of Pittsboro, NC, 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a brother Jim Carlson, and a daughter in law, Ann Bailey both of Olean. Jane is predeceased by her parents, husband, William, two sons, Donald G. Bailey on January 11, 1972, and Thomas L. Bailey on December 2, 2002, a sister Anna Louise Judge, and two brothers, Lavern and Carl Carlson. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Saturday October 22, 2022, from 9:30-10:30am at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Gerald F. laFeber will officiate.
