Olean- Hal E. Siago “Loving Companion, Brother & Uncle”

 

Hal E. Siago of 112 North 6th Street passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Olean General Hospital following an illness.

 

Hal was born on October 3, 1949, in Olean and was the son of Halley E. and Marie E. Pitts Siago. 

 

Hal was a class of 1967 graduate of Olean High School where he excelled in sports especially baseball and basketball.  After high school he continued his education at Brockport University in Jamestown and JCC in Olean.  Hal worked as an accountant at Lee Valley McCloud and then he worked as a counselor for Drug and Alcohol Abuse at the same time starting his contracting business which he continued throughout the rest of his life.

 

Hal was formerly a member of the First Baptist Church of Olean.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, shooting pool, wood working and crafts.  Hal loved his pets especially his dogs DJ and Farlo

 

Hal is survived by his loving companion of 20 years, Colleen Clemons of Olean; 3 step children, Jason R. Clemons of Olean, Selena D. (Thomas) Kelemen of South Carolina and Robbyn W. Clemons of Phoenix, Az; sister, Michelle L. Hund of Allegany, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts and uncles including his uncle Milton R. Pitts of Olean.

 

Hal was predeceased by his parents, an infant sister, Carol M. Siago; a brother, Phillip L. Siago and a sister, Rene Y. Wildfire.

 

A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Parkwood Tavern 659 East State Street, on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 7:00pm. Burial will be in Mount View Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean.
