Olean- Paul S. Miller “Loving Father, Grandfather & Brother”
Paul S. Miller of 110 E Forest Ave passed away Tuesday May 31, 2022, at Olean General Hospital following an illness.
Paul was born on May 7, 1945, in Springville and was the son of Edwin F. Miller Sr. and Rheda L. Williams. He married his wife of 48 years, Gloria J. Swanson on September 27, 1969, in Springville who predeceased him on February 26, 2018.
Paul was a 1963 graduate of the Springville Griffith Institute. He went on to serve in the US Army for in 1966-1968. Following his service, he worked for Germond-Nicholson Construction. Paul moved to Olean in 1977 and drove truck for Dewitt Concrete in Hamburg. He also worked for NABSICO in Olean, drove school bus as well as carrier coach. Paul retired in 2016.
Paul was a life member and post commander at the Olean VFW Post 1619, Olean American Legion, St. Stephens Club, Olean Elks, and a past member of the Olean and Springville Moose Club. Paul enjoyed bowling and playing softball in his younger years. He spent a lot of time with family and friends as well.
Paul is survived by 4 children, Tina M. Schlau of Allegany, Dianna Lynn (Tim Johnson) Marcellin of Portville, Jack W. (Kim) Jufer of Lakeland, Florida, Tracy P. (Lori) Jufer of Lockport, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 5 siblings, Peggy (Larry) Hess of West Valley, Betty (Jerry) Rogers of Springville, Debbie (Dave) Smith of Oxford, Ohio, Sandy (Paul) Giordano of Franklinville, Robert (Marion) Miller of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, sister in law Susan Miller of Springville, many nieces and nephews, his dog Penny, and special friend Bobby Hogund of Olean.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, wife Gloria Miller, an infant daughter, Tammy Ann Miller, a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia J. (David) Cadirao, and a brother, Edwin F. Miller Jr.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Saturday June 4, 2022, from 11:00-1:00pm at which time a funeral service will be held. Deacon Matthew Wenke of Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and of St. John’s will officiate. Full military honors will be accorded by the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892. Burial will be in the Veterans Field of Honor in Mount View Cemetery, Olean. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Olean VFW Post 1619 PO Box 457 Olean, NY 14760.
