Allegany- Ruth Ann Kirkpatrick Ruth Ann Kirkpatrick of Allegany passed away peacefully on Monday March 21, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born on May 18, 1954, in Olean and was the daughter of James Wellington and Marion “Mary Anne” Fitzgerald Kirkpatrick. Ruth was a graduate of Allegany High School and she continued her education at Lenoire-Rhyne in Hickory, NC and then to St. Bonaventure University for her MBA in Accounting. She spent many years teaching piano lessons to local students. One of her biggest and proudest accomplishments were being a mom of two and a granny to six. Ruth is survived by her mother, Mary Anne Kirkpatrick of Allegany and her children, Ryan (Megan) Kirkpatrick of East Aurora, Colleen (Donald) Wood-Smith of Greenwich, CT, and six grandchildren, Lily and Rory Kirkpatrick, and Sailor, Beckett, Finley, and Sawyer Wood-Smith, two brothers, Doug (Heidi) Kirkpatrick of Portland, OR., and Gerry L. (Ann Marie) Kirkpatrick of Charlottesville; niece Fiona Kirkpatrick and John Carriero, and grand niece Willow of Sanfrancisco, CA., and many lovely friends and neighbors that she cared for deeply. Ruth was predeceased by her father, James Kirkpatrick of Allegany on July 10, 2021. A private graveside service only for the immediate family will be held. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery. The Rev. Jason Hladik Pastor of the Olean First Baptist Church will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of Ruth’s favorite places, the Allegany Public Library, 90 West Main St or to Homecare and Hospice of Olean, at 1225 West State St. Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
