Marilyn Jean Caskey Spink

Olean- Marilyn “Bonnie” Caskey Spink “Loving Mother, Grandmother & Sister” Bonnie Caskey Spink of 646 East State Street, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Olean General Hospital following an illness. Bonnie was born May 11, 1930, in the Mountain Clinic in Olean and was a daughter of Harry L. & Hazel Avery VanScoter. She was formerly Married to Ray Caskey of Port Allegany. On Dec. 26, 1978, in their home in Olean, she married her loving husband of 37 years, E. Ray Spink, who pre-deceased her Oct. 24, 2015. Bonnie was a 1948 graduate of Port Allegany High School. As a young lady she began working as a waitress at the Lynn Hall Restaurant as well as at the Manning’s Diner in Port Allegany before going to work at the Ho-Sta-Ga Restaurant on Rock City Hill, where she worked for 23 years. In 1978 after moving to Olean from Port Allegany she worked in the jewelry department at AM&A’s Department store at the Olean Center Mall, for several years. Bonnie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Olean and served on its Altar Guild for several years. She was a former member of the Port Allegany Myrtle Chapter of the Easter Starr and the Red Hatters of Olean. Bonnie will be remembered as a gratuitous lady who enjoyed cooking & entertaining, traveling, doing ceramics, but most importantly loved her husband and family and truly enjoyed family gathering and spending time with them. Surviving Bonnie are her children Ron R. (Bonnie) Caskey of Port Allegany, Saralyn (Joe) Keck of Roulette, Pa. stepchildren Diane E. (Bill) Hasard of Olean, Lezlee A. (Fran Patz) of Butler Pa. Bradley M. (Jenni Young) Spink of Olean. Daughter In-Law Marilyn Caskey of Modesto, California,. A sister Darla McBride of Mesa, Az, 12 Grandchildren Kristin (Ryan) Patterson, Amy (Joe) Van Riper, Ty (Ashley) Caskey, Shae (Tiniel) Rollins, Sean Russell, Laurie (Scott) Russell-Peabody, Kierra Keck, Sean (Debbie) Spink, Kevin (Dianna) Spink, Cari (Eugene) Cummings, Lisa (Mike) Scott, Nicole (James) Bozan. Many Great & Great Great Grandchildren. Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Ray Spink, a son Dale R. Caskey on Nov. 25, 2008, stepson Mark E. Spink April 28, 2020, grandson Nathan W. Russell on June 12, 1994, Brother in law Clair McBride in 2015. Friends will be received on Tuesday March 1, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 1:00 pm in the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dr. Derek J. Cheek, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. View Cemetery, Olean.
