Olean- Eleanore (Ellen) B. Rees “Loving Wife and Mother” Eleanore B. (Hall) Rees of 314 N 12th St passed away on Friday February 4, 2022, at Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Ellen was born in Olean on January 4, 1952 and was the daughter of Earnest and Beatrice Paventi Hall. On October 3rd, 1970, she married Neil T. Rees who survives. Ellen was a loving wife and mother who worked as a Police Matron in the 1980s and enjoyed her grandchildren as well as pets. Her hobbies included bowling, croquet, and cooking. She loved to talk to friends and family while having coffee and was always there for someone in need. Never one to back down from a fight Ellen helped her husband recover from Covid but lost her own battle with the disease. Her strong will and perseverance will be remembered by all that met her. She will be missed dearly by her loving husband and children. Besides her husband Neil she is survived by three sons, Shawn A. Rees, Shane T. Rees and Dakota L. Spencer all of Olean. Four grandchildren, Aurora B. Rees and Forest T. Rees of Providence, Rhode Island, and Brenton C. Luka and Kayden M. Spencer of Olean. Ellen’s surviving sisters are Sherril L. (James) Weitzel of Allegany, Carol Spencer of Olean, and on sister-in-law, Susan M. Black of Olean. She was pre-deceased by her parents and three brothers, George Ransom Ricky, Douglas M. Hall, and David W. Hall. Also, a sister, Stephanie D. Hall Easterly. There will be no funeral services at this time and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date for close friends and family.
