Cuba – Kenneth W. ‘Hintzy” Hintz, “Loving Husband, Father, & Grandfather” Kenneth W. Hintz of Cuba, formerly of Great Valley passed away Monday, November 29th, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital following an illness. Ken was born in Salamanca on December 31st, 1952, he’s the son of Kenneth F. and Corrine Mitchell Hintz. On August 27th, 1980 in Little Valley, he married his loving wife of 41 years Diane E. Fleming, who survives. Ken was a 1970 graduate of Ellicottville Central School. In 1974 he began working for Dresser Rand in Olean where he worked in a couple different positions before becoming a pipe fitter. Kenneth retired in March 2017 after working at Dresser for 43 years. Ken enjoyed driving and working on his classic cars. He also enjoyed being outside. He would go for drives, feed birds, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. Ken was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He was a member of the local 4601 United Steelworker of America as well as being a son of the American Legion in Ellicottville. He was a giving man who donated blood as often as he could for years. Along with his loving wife Diane, Ken is survived by two daughters; Karen (Phillip) Slater of Salamanca and Kasey (Johnny) Diaz of Alfred Station, Ken had five grandchildren, Kyleigh, Sophie, Nina, Eva, and Owen, one sister; Cheryl R. Tanner of Franklinville and her son Clay Tanner, who was like a son to Kenneth, a nephew, Joe Skeels, a niece Elizabeth Campbell, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his dog Mack. Ken was predeceased by his parents. Friends will be received on Saturday, December 4th, 2021, from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home located at 646 E State St, Olean NY. A private burial will follow at the Green Cemetery in Great Valley with the Reverend Michael Sanders, pastor of the Five Mile Baptist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cattaraugus County Meals on Wheels or to Empire Animal Rescue Society (EARS) in Salamanca.
