Olean- Brian T. Dougherty Brian Thomas Dougherty was found in his North 6th Street home in Olean on Sunday (Nov. 21, 2021) by his son, Kevin. For the past several years, Mr. Dougherty had been under the care of a physician. Mr. Dougherty was born on Sept. 8, 1954, to the late John F. and Kathleen A. Dougherty of Olean. He graduated from Archbishop Walsh in 1972 and from SUNY at Albany in 1976. He earned his CPA license in Connecticut in 1982. He lived in Connecticut from 1981 through 2004, at which time he retired and moved back to Olean to be closer to his family. Based in New York and later in Connecticut, he worked as a CPA, an investigator, and a forensic accountant for various government agencies. He also managed an Israeli import/export company for 10 years. While living in Connecticut, he served on the New Milford Board of Finance as its chairman for 10 years, overseeing the town and school budgets for this town of approximately 30,000 residents. For five years, he co-hosted a Connecticut-wide television talk show with his co-host Chip Davin called "The Chip & Brian Show." In 1997, his wife, Denise, crossed over to the other side, a loss he never truly recovered from. Mr. Dougherty never remarried. He had two sons, Kevin and Kyle; two daughters, Samantha and Stephanie; two granddaughters, Quinn and Miley; and two grandsons, Lochlan and Lennox; two brothers, Francis (Kathy) Dougherty and Daniel (Jackie) Dougherty; a sister, Anne (Bruce) Bush; seven nephews and nieces; and numerous grandnephews and grandnieces. There will be no services at this time as Brian had a traditional Irish wake pre-mortem which was held on Saturday August 15, 2015 at Quinn's Wake, 108 N. Second St. to celebrate his life. In accordance with his specific wishes, no flowers or memorial donations should be given. Arrangements are under the direction of Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean.
