Francis William Brown

Francis William Brown of 11 Pennsylvania Ave. Apt. 205 passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008 at home following an illness. Mr. Brown was born Dec. 4, 1934 in Olean and was a son of Francis Herbert and Nina Holdridge Brown. He was formerly married to Ruby Singleton. On May 10, 2003 he married Shirley I. Brege who survives. Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Army from Sept. 19, 1957 to Sept. 18, 1959. Mr. Brown worked his own farm for a number of years. He also worked at the Portville Gravel Pit. Mr. Brown lived in Kentucky for a number of years, where he worked as Truck driver and in a stone query. Mr. Brown was a logger both by himself and for his brother Ronald "Brown Logging". Surviving Mr. Brown besides his wife are two sons, Francis David (Terri) Brown of Olean and Harold Glen (Nancy) Brown of Cuba; two daughters, Patricia (Alan) Arnold of Portville and Darla (John) Lee of Amarillo, Texas; four stepsons, Gary (Debbie) Burch of Cuba, Tom (Pam) Burch of Friendship, Brian Brege of Fl., and Denny Brege of Friendship; four bothers, Gerald (Irene) Brown of Springdale, WA., Ronald (Sue) Brown of Shinglehouse, PA., Glen Brown of Woodburn, OR., and John (Cherry) Brown of McMinnville, OR; four sisters, Wanda (Butler) Stephens of Woodburn, OR., Elsie (Alfred) Burrows of Winter haven, CA., Elma (Virgil) Delker of Aloha, OR., and Ruth (Harold) Delker of Portland, OR.; two sister-in-laws, Sally Brown of Port Allegany, Pa. and Ellen Brown of Mullins, SC.; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. Mr. Brown was pre-deceased by his father in 1968 and his mother in 2007; a son, William Daryl Brown in 2001; two brothers, Roy Brown in 2003 and James Brown in 2000. Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the West Clarksville Baptist Church from 1:00 to 2:30 P.M. at which time funeral and committal services will be held. The Rev. Leslie E. Chambers, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Home Care & Hospice Network 118 North Main Street, Wellsville, N.Y. 14895.
