Portville – Genevieve M. Zemer "Loving Mother, Grandmother, & Great Grandmother" Genevieve M. Zemer passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Bradford Manor, following a lengthy illness. Genevieve was born on December 26, 1929 in Olean and was a daughter of Shickery and Nazha Shewairy. On October 4, 1952 at St. Joseph's Church, she married her husband of 54 years, Albert A. Zemer, who predeceased her on July 16, 2007. Genevieve attended Olean High School and worked at the Olean Tile Plant before raising her son. Genevieve was formerly a member of the St. Joseph's Church, where she volunteered to work for the church festivals. She attended St. Mary of the Angels. Genevieve enjoyed walking, music, cooking, and fashion, but most of all she loved her family, cooking for them, and caring for them. Genevieve is survived by; a son, Phillip J. Zemer of Portville; 5 grandchildren, Jacob A. Zemer of New York City, Mary Jayne (Joe) Zemer of Falls, PA, Lauren T. (Joe) Zemer of Seattle, WA, Chelsea A. Zemer of Portville, and Gabriella R. Zemer of Los Angeles, CA; 2 great grandchildren, Storm Wilder and Idris Ilia; 2 siblings, Carol (Rudy) Recla of New York City and Paul Shewairy of Olean; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her loving husband, Albert, Genevieve was predeceased by 4 siblings, Felicia, Mary, Joe, and Phil. Funeral Services will be at the convenience of the family.
