Diana M. Klapakis

Olean – Diana M. Klapakis Diana M. Klapakis, of 1308 Old Rock City Road, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the Olean General Hospital, following an illness. Diana was born on July 22, 1959 in New York City and was a daughter of Nicholas and Margaret Mary Teresa Walker Klapakis. She graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1981. Diana served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force Reserves. She then worked as a letter carrier in Queens before relocating to the Olean area. Diana gave all that she could, and beyond, to family, friends, and strangers. Her heart was the beating pulse of the Golden Rule! Diana was a New York Yankees fan and an avid animal lover. Diana is survived by, her loving companion, Gary G. Lerchen, she was a devoted sister to 3 sisters, Rita Klapakis, Anna Klapakis and Catherine Klapakis Bruno, and a nephew Emanuel X. Bruno. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean, today, May 11, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 beginning with a prayer service at the Funeral Home at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels at 10:00 am. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson will officiate. Burial will be at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY. Online condolences may be made at www.LetroMcIntoshSpinkFuneralHome.com.
