Olean – Louis P. DiMarino "Life-long Olean Resident" Louis P. DiMarino, of 543 Indiana Ave, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at his home following a lengthy illness. Louis was born on May 9, 1930 in Olean and was a son of Luigi and Domenica DiLuzio DiMarino. He was a 1947 graduate of Olean High School. Louis went on to study and graduate from St. Bonaventure University. Following his graduation from St. Bonaventure, he taught school at Olean and Hinsdale High Schools. Louis was drafted into the US Army and served during the Korean War from August 6, 1951 to July 16, 1953. Upon his honorable discharge from the US Army, he enrolled at Georgetown University and graduated with a Degree in Law. Louis returned to Olean and practiced law with Nick Rodgers, later establishing his own law practice, Louis DiMarino Attorney at Law. He also served as a Cattaraugus County Estate Tax Attorney and a City Court Judge for Salamanca. Louis is survived by; a niece, Lisa Hickman of California; a nephew, Richard Gautille of Pennsylvania; 2 great nieces, Michelle Shea of Florida and Alicia Gautille of Pennsylvania; 5 great nephews, Garret Shea of Florida, Patrick Shea of Colorado, Jason Gautille of Pennsylvania, and Rylan & Steven both of California; and a sister-in-law, Helen Joan Woods DiMarino of California. Louis was predeceased by his father, Luigi DiMarino, his mother, Domenica DiLuzzio DiMarino, a sister Rose Gautille, and a brother, Albert DiMarino. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, 202 South Union Street, Olean, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 10:00 am. Burial will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany. Full military honors will be accorded by the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post #892 Ritual Team.
