Carmella T. Hulbert

Olean – Carmella T. Hulbert "Loving Mother, Grandmother, & Sister" Carmella T. Hulbert, of 130 North 7th Street, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021, at the Olean General Hospital, following a brief illness. Carmella was born on May 15, 1936 in Olean and was a daughter of Salvator and Elizabeth Pavone Alaimo. On January 24, 1957, in Olean, she married her husband of 27 years, Merle E. Hulbert, Sr., who predeceased her on April 6, 1984. Carmella was a 1954 graduate of Olean High School. She raised her family. Carmella was formerly a member of both the Moose Lodge and St. Stephen's Club. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, cooking, and being in the outdoors, but she truly loved raising her grandchildren. Carmella had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone, especially her family. Carmella is survived by; 5 children, Elizabeth M. "Sissy" Larkin of Portville, Cindy M. Hulbert of Richburg, PA, Sandy L. (Santiago) Acevedo of Bradford, PA, Michael E. Hulbert and Scott J. (Amanda) Hulbert both of Olean; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Along with her parents and her loving husband, Carmella was predeceased by; a son, Merle E. Hulbert, Jr. on October 24, 2020; a daughter, Michelle L. Hulbert in 1972; and 3 sisters, Theresea C. Gapa in 1984, Sally A. Turbine, and Mary Ann McElfresh in 2020. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean, on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at which time a Funeral Service will be held.
