Olean – Charles L. Blanchard "Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather" Charles L. Blanchard, of 115 Willow St., passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the Olean General Hospital, following an illness. Charles was born on March 6, 1949 in Port Allegany, PA and was a son of Kenneth and Evelyn Bradley Blanchard. On March 20, 1970, in Kettering, OH, he married his wife of 50 years, Judy L. Cook, who survives. Charles was a 1967 graduate of Port Allegany High School. He worked for Pierce Glass in Port Allegany, PA for 1 year before enlisting in the US Air Force from June 26, 1968 to June 23, 1972, where he was stationed in Puerto Rico for 1 year and then Rapid City, SD for 1 year. Following his service, Charles attended Miami Jacobs Junior College earning his Associates Degree in Accounting on November 26, 1975. He continued his education at Urbana University earning his Bachelors Degree in 1977. Charles and his wife, Judy, moved to the Olean area in 1978. He worked for the Olean School District as a Substitute Teacher and Custodian for 30 years, until he retired in 2015. Charles enjoyed drawing and music, playing guitar, harmonica, and keyboard often, but he truly loved his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Along with his loving wife, Charles is survived by; 4 daughters, Tammy (John) Sosa and Kristie Blanchard both of Olean, Connie (Bruce) Studley of Pendleton, SC, and Nicole Blanchard of Olean; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Patricia Nichol and Bonita Young; and many nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by; his parents; 2 great grandchildren, Jaden Bedgood and Gregory Hall; and 2 brothers, James Painter and Raymond Blanchard. At this time, there will be no Public Visitation or Services. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future at a date and time to be announced.
