Shirley I. Brege

Shirley I. Brege of 11 Pennsylvania Ave, passed away Monday, May 19, 2008 in the Cuba Memorial Hospital Palliative Care. Mrs. Brege was born on July 31, 1928 in Curtis, Pa. and was a daughter of Gilbert and Effie Dixon Ross. She married Donald R. Burch in 1945, who pre-deceased her in 1964. She married Ernie C. Brege in 1964, who pre-deceased her in 1983. On May 10, 2003 in Bolivar she married Francis W. Brown, who also pre-deceased her on May 11, 2008. Mrs. Brege was a graduate of Cuba Central High School. She worked at ACME Electric for about 10 years in the 1950's. Mrs. Brege worked at Cuba Memorial Hospital for a number of years until her retirement in 1992. Mrs. Brege was a member of the West Clarksville Baptist Church and was a member of the Election Board of West Clarksville from 1980-1982. She was an avid sports fan including the NY Yankee's, Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Saber's. She enjoyed humming birds. Mrs. Brege loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and especially her grandchildren. Surviving Mrs. Brege are four sons, Gary (Debbie) Burch of Cuba, Thomas (Pam) Burch of Friendship, Brian Brege of Winter Garden, Fl. and Denny Brege of Friendship; two step sons, Francis David (Terri) Brown of Olean and Harold Glen (Nancy) Brown of Cuba; two step daughters, Patricia (Alan) Arnold of Portville and Darla (John) Lee of Texas; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Gilbert (Maryann) Ross of West Palm Beach, Fl. and Myrl (Ruth) Ross of Soddy Daisi, Tenn. Mrs. Brege was pre-deceased by a brother and his wife Dale & Dorothy Ross. Friends will be received on Thursday, May 22, 2008 in the West Clarksville Baptist Church from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at which time Funeral and Committal Services will be held. The Rev. Leslie E. Chamber, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the West Clarksville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the West Clarksville Baptist Church, 9003 Cr#5 PO Box 56 West Clarksville, N.Y. 14786. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. 24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba.
