Phyllis Sheehan-Manaher of 12 South Shore Road passed away, Saturday, December 27, 2014 at her home. Phyllis was born April 13, 1949 in Hornell and was the daughter of Paul and Alma Edwards Sheehan. On July 3, 2004, at their home in Cuba, she married her husband William E. Manaher, who survives. Phyllis received her Masters in Psychology from Geneseo State. She was the school psychologist for over 20 years retiring in 2011 from Genesee Valley Central School. She was a member of the Western New York Teachers Association. Phyllis loved golf, yoga, and exercise. She was a fitness enthusiast. Phyllis was a firm believer in the Democratic Party and its ideals. She will be remembered as caring & nurturing person who loved people, but most of all she loved her husband & family and enjoyed spending time with them. Along with her loving husband of 10 years, Phyllis is survived by three sons, Christopher Sheehan of Marlboro, NY, Carlton Kennell of Cantabury, CT, and Kevin (Fay) Kennell of Arkport; three stepchildren, Sherri (James) Maroney, Kim Marie Manaher, and Mark C. Manaher all of Springville; several grandchildren; a brother, Paul Sheehan of Dansville; two sisters, Ellen Mattice of Dansville, and Karen Dieter of Washington State; and several nieces & nephews. Phyllis was predeceased by a son, Christopher Kennell; a step grandson, Christopher Manaher; and a sister, Leah Blankley. Friends will be received Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba. Burial will be in the Arkport Cemetery, Arkport, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UNICEF, U.S. Fund for UNICEF, 125 Maiden Lane, New York, NY 10038.
