Olean – Priscilla D. Britton "Loving Mother & Grandmother" Priscilla D. Britton, age 94, formerly of Venice, Florida, Osterville, Massachusetts and Barton, Vermont died on July 21, 2019 at the Pines of Olean. She was the wife of William H. Britton who predeceased her in 1998. She was born in Jamaica Plains, Massachusetts on July 16, 1925 to Robert and Dorothy Benson. She was co-owner of George Fardy Plumbing and Heating Business in Hyannis, Massachusetts until 1969 with former husband, George D Fardy, Sr. She was past president of Mid Cape Business & Professional Women’s Club, past President of Cape Cod Master Plumber’s Association Auxiliary and attended West Parish Congregational Church and sang in its choir. In 1972 she married William H. Britton, a building contractor. They retired to Barton, Vermont in 1986 and opened and operated Pauper’s Manse Bed & Breakfast until William’s death in 1998. While wintering in Florida, Priscilla was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Venice, Florida where she sang in the chancel choir. She was a member of the Colonial Manor Mobil Home Park Association and served on the Board of Directors for 3 two year terms as well as served on several committees in the Park. In 2014 she moved to Olean NY to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She became a member of Knapp Creek Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children Roberta Fardy of Mashpee, MA, Kathy (Gerald) Piper of Olean, NY, Douglas (Marcia) Faraday of Castle Rock, CO, Stephen (Amy) Britton of West Barnstable, MA, Scott (Maureen) Britton of Bellingham, MA, Jon (Doreen) Britton of West Barnstable, MA, Lori (Mike) Seraiks of Colebrook, NH and Christopher Britton (Laurie Colwell) of Sandwich, MA. She has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, George D. Fardy, Jr. Friends will be received Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, 646 E State Street, Olean, NY, where a memorial service will begin at 6:00pm . Her son-in-law, Rev Gerald Piper will preside at the service. A burial service will be held at the National Cemetery of Cape Cod, MA, on Friday July 26, 2019.
