Ischua - Lucas "Luke" Bard Tallman     "Loving father, family man, and friend"

Lucas "Luke" Bard Tallman, went to be with his Lord, on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, with his loving family around him.

Lucas was born on Oct. 21, 1976 in Des Moines, Iowa and was a son of the late Steven Tallman and Cheryl Freer Depledge.  He was a 1995 graduate of Portville Central School.

Lucas worked throughout New York, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky construction industry, specializing in siding and roofing after learning the trade from his father.  He was also formerly employed by Love's Travel Stops in Waddy, Kentucky.  Lucas also offered his construction skills helping communities rebuild, such as his trip to the East Coast after Hurricane Sandy.  He shared carpentry skills assisting many family members and friends.  Lucas was friendly to all, including the many medical professionals he encountered throughout the years and could easily strike up conversations with strangers, turning them quickly into a friend.

Lucas' greatest joy was his four children, Tyler, Kasia, Jeremiah, and Theodore.  They were his heart.  With them, he shared many biking and hiking excursions and explored every park they could find whenever they were together.  One hobby Lucas loved was collecting Legos and putting huge projects together with his kids.

Lucas' kindness, compassion for others, and his warped sense of humor will long be remembered by family and friends.  So will his courage and stamina through his struggles with a chronic illness since childhood.

Lucas is survived by; his four children, Tyler Bauman, Kasia, Jeremiah, and Theodore Tallman, and their mother, his good friend, Melinda Pittman of Shelbyville, KY; his mother, Cheryl Depledge; a sister Amelia Tallman of Ischua; a brother, Will (Cindy) Smith of Olean; a nephew, Jonathan Smith of South Carolina; grandparents, Andy and Barb Gaudet of Belmont, NH; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; his best bro; Bryan Kenyon; and his beloved companion dog, Pixie, who rarely left his side.

Lucas was predeceased by; his father Steven Tallman in 1999; two cousins, Michele Wuethrich and Travis Freer; and grandparents, Joan Gaudet, Irwin "Pete" Freer, Lola Freer, and Bob and Gloria Tallman.

A celebration of Luke's life will take place at the Weston's Mills Community Center on Saturday, January 26, 2019, starting with a brief service at 11:00 am with remembrances to follow.
