Allegany - Judson C. "Jud" Kennedy
Judson C. "Jud" Kennedy, of 4137 Birch Run Road, formerly of North 3rd Street, Olean, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018, with his loving daughter, Florence, at his side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Jud was born on February 24, 1941 in East Hickory, Pennsylvania and was a son of Edward and Florence Clark Kennedy. He was formerly married to Mazie Vergith and Concetta Bartela Martin. On May 12, 1985 in Westons Mills, he married his loving wife, Judith Ann Ratzel, who predeceased him on January 16, 2006.
Jud attended East Hickory High School in Pennsylvania. He worked at several factory jobs, before losing two of his fingers. Jud worked as a driver for many taxi services in Olean, including Alle-Catt Taxi, for more than 30 years. He enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. Jud always spoke his mind, but he always did so with a sense of humor. He is now at peace with his loved one's that have gone before him.
Jud is survived by; 6 children, Judson C. Kennedy, Jr. of New Jersey, Brenda (Michael) Scott of Ellington, Florence Kennedy of Paris, TN, Robert (Char) Kennedy of Colorado, Edward (Taunya) Kennedy of Alabama, and Jodi Kennedy-Turnage of Buffalo; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 3 stepchildren, Lynn (Mark) Cecchi-White, Tim Hale both of Olean, and Sue Taylor of Emporium, PA; 10 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; and 2 siblings, Dona Dietz of Cayuga Falls, OH and Michael (Tina) Kennedy of Corona, CA. He held a special place in his heart for Monica and Olivia.
Along with his loving wife, Jud was predeceased by; his parents, Edward and Florence Clark Kennedy and 3 siblings, Charlotte (Calvin) Cramer, Edward (Betty) Kennedy, and Jack (Violet) Kennedy.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State Street, Olean on Monday, December 30, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Douglas E. Travis, Pastor of the Harvest Field Ministries, will officiate. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.LetroMcIntoshSpinkFuneralHome.com
