Hinsdale - Timothy E. Burgess     

            Timothy E. Burgess, of 3098 Haskell Road, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at his home, following a courageous battle with cancer.

            Tim was born on May 7, 1960 in Olean and was a son of Ernest E. and Rose M. Leete Burgess.  He was a 1978 graduate of Hinsdale Central School where he was very athletic and competed in many sports including Gymnastics, Iron Cross, receiving his 4 year letter.  Tim attended St. Bonaventure University for 2 years and then Alfred University for 4 years, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in marketing in 1985.

            Tim lived in Florida from 1987 until 1998.  He worked for Coca Cola as a truck driver and was instrumental in setting up displays.  Tim moved back to Olean in 1998 and worked as an independent contractor with the US Post Office, transferring mail from one post office to another until 2015, when he stopped due to illness.  Tim enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing music on a number of instruments including the drums, keyboard, and guitar, gardening, but he truly loved spending time with his family.

            Tim is survived by; a companion, Robin Farr; 2 stepdaughters, Beckie Farr of Olean and Sarah McCaull of Salamanca; his mother and stepfather, Rose M. (Bruce) Crandall of Cuba; 3 siblings, Johnathan L. (Deborah) Burgess of Allegany, Joel S. (Sandra) Burgess of Black Creek, and Terry D. (Wally Jean) Burgess of Belfast; and 5 nieces and nephews.

            Tim was predeceased by his father, Ernest on May 13, 1965.

            Friends will be received at the Creek Side Chapel, 2523 Five Mile Road in Allegany, on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at which time a Funeral Service will be held.  The Rev. Adam D. Stein, Pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. 

            In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Johnson City, New York 13790 or to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm and Carlton Street, Buffalo, New York 14263.
