James E. Vogt

May 1, 1958 — October 13, 2018

Olean - James E. Vogt, Jr.

James E. Vogt, Jr., of 144 South Union Street, formerly of Geneva, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at his home following a lengthy illness.

Jim was born on May 1, 1958 in Geneva and was a son of James E. and M. Anne Whitman Vogt.  He worked as a food preparer at Hobart College in Geneva before moving to Olean about 10 years ago to be with his family, whom he loved very much.  Jim was a wonderful, gentle man who had daily struggles and continued to walk through life.  He was thought of as a good, friendly, and polite guy who loved sports, especially the NY Giants, NY Mets, and he became an avid follower of Bona's Basketball and the Olean Oilers.  Jim was a huge Strat-O-Matic fan.  We know you are now at peace.

Please remember people who have challenges in their life still need our love and support daily.

Jim is survived by his mother; Anne Vogt of Olean; 2 siblings, Mary W. (Timothy) Isaman of Olean and Andrew A. Vogt of Stratham, NH; 2 nieces, Jessica Sick and Anna Vogt; 4 nephews, TJ Isaman, William, James and Henry Vogt; 1 great niece, Alivia Sick; and 1 great nephew, Ayden Sick.

Jim was predeceased by his father, James E. Vogt, Sr., on October 4, 1979.

At Jim's request, there will be no Public Visitation or Memorial Services.  In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to STEL, 715 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY 14048, for the benefit of the Olean program.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State Street , Olean .  Online condolences may be made at www.LetroMcIntoshSpinkFuneralHome.com
