Olean – Joseph E. Tetlak "Loving Brother and Uncle"
Joseph E. Tetlak, of 1439 South Avenue, Apt. 22, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Buffalo VA Hospital, following a long illness.
Joseph was born on March 4, 1953 in Olean and was a son of John "Red" and Delaura Mae Senear Tetlak. He was a 1972 graduate of OleanHigh School. Joseph served in the US Air Force from Feb. 28, 1973 to June 16, 1976. He worked for 36 years at Olean Tile Company from 1976 until they closed in 2012. Joseph was a member of the St. Mary of the Angels Parish.
Joe enjoyed being outside, working in the garden, and geocaching. He loved sports, especially the NY Yankees, the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, and the Duke Blue Devils. Joe loved helping people and had a heart of gold. He always put others first. Joe Loved his cat "Flash", but he truly loved his family, and enjoyed spending time them, especially his nieces and nephews at the holiday seasons.
Joe is survived by; 5 siblings, John G. (Mary) Tetlak of Hinsdale, Richard A. (Kathy Kieva) Tetlak of Bradford, PA, Ann M. (Tom) Labo of Marshfield, MA, Barbara J. (Duane Cowher) Greene, of Bradford, PA and Jeffery E. Tetlak of Olean; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Joe was predeceased by his parents.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State Street, Olean on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018, beginning with a prayer service at 9:30 am at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
