Allegany – Joan B. "Joni" Herald "Beloved & Missed"
Joan B. "Joni" Herald, of 4526 Route 417, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at her home, following an illness.
Joni was born on Aug. 29, 1947 in Tucson, AZ and was a daughter of Matthew and Adele Joseph Slaven.
Joni graduated from Jamestown Community College with an Associate's Degree in Psychology. She worked several places in Cattaraugus County, including being a home health aide, taking care of in home resident private family care for a few local families. Joni went to work at the Rehabilitation Center, where she worked for about 5 years, until she became disabled. She enjoyed gardening, motorcycles and her pets.
Joni is survived by; 3 sons, Richard T. "Ted" Herald of Hubert, NC, Byron B. (Gina DeNardo) Herald of Tenafly, NJ and Charles M. Herald of Salt Lake City Utah; 3 grandchildren; a sister, Bobbi Weaver; a brother Bruce Gillium both of Lubbock, TX; several nieces and nephews; her loving companion, whom she lived with for 15 years, Earl J. Frank of Allegany.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State Street, Olean on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at which time a Memorial Service will be held.
