Mary C. Tuttle, of 924 Crown Street and most recently the Pines Health & Rehab, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at the Olean General Hospital, following a brief illness.
Mary was born April 8, 1919 in Olean and was a daughter of Henry and Rose Carls Yehl. On May 23, 1941, in Portville, she married her husband of 65 years, John M. Tuttle, who predeceased her on July 20, 2006.
Mary graduated from Allegany High School in 1938. She enjoyed traveling. After marrying Mark, during the war years, Mary followed him to California, New York, and the Carolinas as he trained in preparation for shipping out to the Pacific Theatre. Later, they made their home in Olean and traveled throughout their life. Mary's children and grandchildren were very important in her life and kept her young.
Mary is survived by a son, Patrick M. (Harriett) Tuttle of Norton, MA; a daughter, Rose Mary (Robert) Pisconski of Olean; six grandchildren, Shannon Tuttle of Mansfield, MA, Kellie (William) Roe of Norton, MA, Julie (Steve) Sliwinski of Raleigh, NC, Susan (Dave) Anderson of Scio, Steven Pisconski of Jupiter, FL, and Theresa Henry of Orlando, FL; and 10 great grandchildren.
Along with her loving husband, Mary was predeceased by two brothers, Carl and Fenton Yehl; and a sister, Eileen Tanner.
Friends will be received Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean, where Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM. The Rev. Anthony J. Salim, Pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, will officiate.
