Jessica "Jane" Treusdell, of 11 Hill Street, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Cuba Skilled Nursing Facility, following an illness.
Jane was born Jan. 23, 1917 in Machias and was a daughter of John Henry and Mary Myrtle Myrick Conway. At the Presbyterian Church in Cuba, she married the love of her life, Claire Treusdell who predeceased her on April 20, 2010.
Jane graduated from Sherman High School in Sherman. She attended Fredonia College. Jane was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved all arts and was an artist who worked mostly with oil paints. Jane loved gardening, flowers, reading, old movies, crosswords, sewing, and travelling. She loved spending the winter in Virginia with her daughter Carol and family. Above all, Jane truly loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Jane is survived by one son, John R. Treusdell of Cuba; three daughters, Linda Eckert of Orangevale, CA, Mary (David) Platt of Oswego, IL, and Carol (Gerald) Ottman of Forest, VA; six grandchildren, Michelle Single, Geoffrey Eckert, Dr. Mark Platt, Michael Platt, Gerald Ottman, III, and Benjamin Ottman; five great grandchildren; and a special niece, Pauline (Fred) Dean.
At Jane's request, there will be no Public Visitation or Funeral Service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Cuba Memorial Hospital, 140 West Main Street, Cuba, New York 14727.
