Karl Riehle,57, of Hoop Street, passed away Wed., April 22, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving Wife & family following a long illness.
Karl was born on October 9th 1957 in Olean, and was a son of Delores and Norman "Joe" Riehle. On Dec. 29, 1985 in Allegany he married his loving wife of almost 30 years, Mary L. Riehle, who survives.
Being a lifelong resident of Olean, Karl was a 1976 graduate of Olean High School. He worked many jobs over the years including at the Dal-Tile plant and the Olean Wholesale company. Always one to be working with his hands, he also undertook many projects for the residents of Olean.
Karl will be remembered as always being blunt & to the point, and for saying exactly what was on his mind. Anyone who talked to him knew right away that they would get only the truth from him, and couldn't help but smile at his unique way of putting things in perspective. He had a big heart that would always compel him to try and help those who needed it. He was well loved by his family & friends and will be sorely missed.
Karl was a firm believer in The Bill Of Rights and the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and he was a life long member of the N.R.A. and the N.A.G.R. (National Association of Gun Rights) and he enjoyed going to car shows and community events and doing cookouts with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary; his Daughters, Kelly and Melanie Riehle; his son, B'jay Riehle; his grandchildren, Corinne, Justice, Yasminn, and "little" Bruce; his brothers and sisters, Joette; Norm; Cindy; Gary (wife Teresa) and Dana Riehle; and his nephews, Nick, Nate, and Nolan Riehle.
Honoring his wishes there will be no public visitation. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11:00 am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. The Rev. Patrick Melfi, a personal friend and the Pastor of Our Lady of Peace Parish in Salamanca, will celebrate.
