Clarence "Jack" Huselstein, formerly of 610 West Green Street, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Absolut of Allegany, following a lengthy illness.
Jack was born Jan. 7, 1929 in Olean and was the son of Samuel and Blanche Volkl Huselstein. He attended the Indiana School of Music in Pennsylvania, as well as, Alfred State College. Jack earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology from St. Bonaventure University.
Jack has worked in sales and construction, and he even owned his own restaurant called the "Lazy Dude." He worked at the Olean General Hospital for over 10 years, retiring in 1992. Jack was a member of the St. Mary of the Angels Church.
Jack was an avid musician where he played the clarinet, saxophone, piano, organs, and even a concertina. In addition to music, he was also an artist of oil colors, pastels, and watercolor portraits. Jack enjoyed outdoor adventures with his pets and long car rides.
Jack is survived by three children, David J. (Michelle Cretelle) Huselstein of Penfield, Mary C. (John) Carron of Ceres, and Mark J. (Anne) Huselstein of Olean; and four grandchildren, Jocelyn, Samantha, Kathryn, and Victoria.
Jack was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Evelyn Reid in November of 2005.
Friends will be received at the St. Mary of the Angels Church, 202 South Union Street, Olean on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at which time a Memorial mass will be held. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson, Pastor of the St. Mary of the Angels Church, will celebrate.
