William L. Clark of 3743 Karl Road, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 at his home following a short illness.
Bill was born April 22, 1940 in Olean and was a son of Jared H. and Marie Elizabeth Baham Clark. On Oct. 15, 1966 at the First Church of God in Eldred, PA, he married his wife of 48 years, Shirley A. VanScoter, who predeceased him on Feb. 14, 2015.
Bill attended the Allegany High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army serving from April 16, 1963 to March 23, 1966. Bill began working as an Auto Mechanic, then he went to work at Trico in Bradford for about 20 years, until the early 1990's when he returned to work as an auto mechanic for a number of places in the Olean area until 2013. He also drove school bus in Allegany for many years. Bill was a member of the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post #892. He enjoyed hunting and socializing, but he truly loved spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by a daughter, Heather M. Clark of Allegany; one grandson, Jacob W. Crawford; six siblings, Jared Clark of Allegany, Joyce Larrabee of Olean, Marion (Fred) Ratzel of Ceres, Alan Clark of Allegany, Donald Clark of Allegany, and Willis Clark of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his loving wife, Bill was predeceased by a sister, Ann Riordan.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean, on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Shawn W. Morris, Pastor of the United Pentecostal Church, will officiate. Members of the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892 Ritual Team will accord full military honors.
